If you are coming to Banff to work this information will help you decide when to arrive. Some months are easier to find jobs than other months. Banff is a resort community with distinctive high and shoulder seasons. Here are some helpful hints:

Most jobs are available in high season which is summer. This season lasts from Late May until September. Banff sees an influx of visitors to the Park during this time. Many jobs in the hospitality industry are available.

December to March is also a good time to find work.

Slow season is during the months of late September, October and November. During this time the town slows down and many summer staff leave on other endeavours. 

When are the ski hills hiring?

Keep in mind that if you are looking at working for the ski hills you will want to be in town for the middle of October and to have money in your pocket until your job (if you are successful in the interview process) starts which could be up to a month.  For example: a few winter seasons ago Banff had a very late snow fall. Many staff that was hired to work at the hills ended up waiting up to 5 weeks to start work.  This is a reality!

Our advice:  have some money saved in your pocket if you are looking to start work at the ski hills at the beginning of the season because you never know what will happen… snow wise!

Please note that Banff has no soup kitchens or emergency shelters that you can count on for a free meal and a place to sleep. Plan ahead!
