Kitchen Apprentice

 

 

Qualifications

Currently Enrolled in a post-secondary culinary program

Basic knife skills

Previous kitchen experience

Responsibilities

Strive to uphold all hygiene and sanitary regulations and be clean and presentable at all times (i.e., report to duty punctually wearing a clean and correct uniform and safety shoes)

Ensure a safe work environment for yourself and your co-workers by upholding the safety rules

Adhere to sanitation standards as outlined by the Public Health Department.

Help support effective food costs, waste control and product yield

Maintain equipment and food station standards

Ensure appropriate levels of mise-en-place and on hand product according to levels of business

Efficiently complete duties as assigned by the executive chef

Personal Qualities

A keen sense of taste and smell

Excellent hand-eye co-ordination

Good arithmetic skills

A good memory for details

Artistic and creative talent

Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and team-building skills

The ability to remain calm in hectic circumstances

Excellent organizational and leadership skills

Pay Range
