Facts about partying in Banff:

Introduction:

Although located an hour and a half from a city, situated in the wilderness and is called home by only 8000 locals, Banff still has a very urban feel. Banff Avenue is a bustling street with many shops, late night café’s, pubs and night clubs. With lots of young people coming to work and tourists flocking to the area, combined with a great atmosphere it adds up to be a fabulous night life! There is always something going on in downtown Banff.

When partying in Banff remember…

Have a good balance between the bar scene and your outdoor pursuits. Remember why you have come to Banff and the activities you have come here to do. Don’t let your hangover exclude you from enjoying the mountains!

The Banff community has seen incidents of people getting addicted to cocaine and alcohol. Be careful and take care of each other. If you do feel you are developing a dependency on any substance call AADAC for non-judgmental advice.

This is a real community with young children and seniors. When you are on your way home from the bar PLEASE remember to be courteous when walking home. Pushing someone down the street in a shopping cart is so disrespectful to the community. Keep our community wonderful by being a great addition to it… not a nuisance.

Banff has also had incidents of the date rape drug. Take some simple precautions while you are out on the town: 1. Try to go out with others. 2. Never leave your drink unattended while you hit the dance floor… drink it first!

HAVE FUN!

Burn Out Rates:

Give your body time to recuperate at least one full day off snowboarding or skiing. If you have an injury, it’s better to fully recover than push it or it will be a constant reoccurring injury.

Give your body time to recover from binge drinking nights. Really think about the toxins that you have put into your body. It takes 48 hours for you body to naturally detox. Be smart about working and partying… it can be done successfully. Just don’t burn out!
